The Goober Caddis from Kelly Galloup is probably one of the best….if not THE best dry caddis ever developed. It’s right up there with some of the greats like the Elk Hair and the Butch Caddis, which is also a Kelly pattern.
Kelly designed this fly for slow water but it just happens to float and work well in fast rough water as well. We love it here on our home waters and also don’t leave home without it. A must have on the Madison for those evening hatches when we go to visit each Summer.
Galloup’s Goober Caddis sold here in the Olive #16 which is just about all you need to imitate the little olive net spinner so prevalent throughout the country.
