Description
The White River Deceiver comes to us from Alex Lafkas and it’s one of his most sought after patterns. Also known as the Fish Skull Deceiver. This fly is of course a great choice for monster trout but also a killer largemouth, smallmouth and pike fly. Tied on a very stout hook so no reason you couldn’t use it in the salt as well. It’s simply one hell of an articulated baitfish pattern.
Of course, he pays homage to a Deceiver style fly with use of bucktail, peacock herl and saddle feathers but has added quite a bit of flash as well. Fish Skull up front and the articulation done with mono and one articulation bead. Tied on a Gamakatsu B10S #1 Hook.
Lafkas’ White River Deceiver here in the Olive/White color with a gunmetal Fish Skull head and red eyes. A GREAT baby bass pattern. The articulation bead is red on this one. These flies measure approximately 6 1/2″ long.
