Scuds are an important food source in many spring creeks and tailwater fisheries. Sometimes the single most important food sourse. These bead body scuds are a great pattern to have when fishing scud laden waters.
The addition of the bead, amongst a basic shell-backed pattern gets the fly down to where it should be, without changing the profile of the bug. We all know how effective beads can be on a pattern and this one “hides” it in the body. Just a good, basic scud pattern that gets down.
