Description
Schmidt’s Caddis Larva is a great little “rockworm” pattern that we have been selling and using since the early nineties. This is a classic salmon and steelhead pattern from legendary guide and shop owner Ray Schmidt. Our own Brian Flechsig can remember using this fly on the Pere Marquette back on his 1st hosted trip EVER in 1990.
A must have for Michigan steelhead and salmon fishing, also a killer in Erie streams as well. One of the best patterns in low clear water, and tied on a strong enough hook so the Kings can’t give you fits. Although a classic salmon and steelhead pattern, nothing says you can’t catch trout on it as well!!!
We carry Schmidt’s Caddis Larva here in size 8 in Green but also available in Chartreuse as well.
