Description
The Hopedale Crab is a redfish fly that was developed for fishing big bull reds down in Louisiana. It is surely a top pick for redfish anywhere but we have also been hearing stories of this fly working extremely well on large bones, permit and snook as well. it is legendary in South Louisiana but also developing a following in the Everglades and Keys as well.
Tied on a SL12 Gamakatsu 1/0 hook, it will pass the test. Lead eyes, Enrico Tarantula brush, rubber legs, flash, and a tail of craft fur. Doesn’t look that sexy in the fly bin here, or in the photo, but this is a saltwater fly that produces fish! If you are fishing for redfish anywhere, or in the back country, don’t go without this fly!
The Hopedale Crab is tied on a 1/0 hook and is sold here in the Brown/Rust color. Also available in Chartreuse and Olive. This fly measures approximately 4″, head to toe.
