Description
The String Leech style flies are some of the most often used patterns amongst Alaskan fishing guides. Top recommendation for these trips, but also popular with the “swing and spey” crowd as well. Also used on a some of the larger rivers in the Great Lakes. Great design and a ton of sexy, slinky action.
These feature a rabbit strip tail, in which the hook is attached to near the rear, using the string method. Some holographic Flashabou runs the length of the tail as well. At the head they feature a dual color, hackle collar with a topping of guinea add just the right bugginess and adds the aura of traditionalism (is that a word?).
String Leech fly here in size 2 in the Black/Red color combo. This fly measures approximately 4″ long.
