Rich’s Ultimate Worm is a bass fisher’s dream. Absolutely one of the best producing bass flies you could ever fish. It’s that good.
Designed by Rich McElligott from Illinois, it’s a simple, soft chenille like material that tapers down just like a plastic worm. It is also “Texas” rigged n a worm hook and all. We all know how much bass love plastic worms, and this is the plastic worm of the fly world.
For sure best fished on a sink tip or sinking line but you can put split-shot out in front if you only have a sinking line. It will still work but surely best to crawl the depths.
Rich’s Ultimate Worm Fly here in Black/Purple and the hook size is 1/0. These flies are just shy of 5″ long.
