Bear Andrews has certainly created some of the most effective salmon and steelhead flies to have ever been fished in the Great Lakes. His Crossdresser fly is one that you really need to have in the box!
It is a great imitation of a little fry, which these fish will focus on. It is also just a buggy little streamer/nymph that gets their attention. A must have for Michigan but we have also been using it here in the Erie region and have done very well.
In addition, this has proven to be an EXCELLENT panfish fly and works especially well on Crappie. It’s just a great little minnow pattern and sinks just right for this style of fishing.
