Is it a fly? Definitely crosses some lines. Inspired by soft plastic freshwater baits, the new gummy minnow is one of the coolest baitfish imitations to come down the pike in years. As far as fly fishing goes, you really haven’t seen anything like it!
Orginally designed for smallmouth but it works great on largemouth, saltwater fish, stripers and just about anything else that eats a minnow! We use these for Redfish on our annual trip to Louisiana and they LOVE them. Tied on 2/0 Owner saltwater hooks so they will hold up to anything that swims. Made with Sili Skin/Gummy Body and designed by Blane Chocklet.
Blane Chocklett’s Blue Water/Big Game Gummy Minnows size 2/0 here tied on a stainless, stout hook so perfectly suitable for the salt. Pearl is the color here. This fly measures approximately 3 1/2″ long.
