Holy surface bugs! Maddin’s Gill Foam Scorpion has to be one of our favorite flies that Russ has tied in a smaller size making it perfect for Bluegill! It will float all day long and because of the long legs it has amazing movement on the water. This fly works great anytime fish are eating on the surface but we have noticed it is especially good in clear water.
Maddin’s Gill Foam Scorpion is tied here with high rise foam, rubber legs, bucktail and a lively legs brush. It is featured here in the Skunk color and is tied on an Ahrex NS122 #10 hook. The fly measures just over 1″ in length.
