Description
The Red Eye Leech comes to us from our good friend and neighbor Mike “Schultzy” Schultz. A fairly generic rabbit streamer that has been souped up a bit with some collar and flash to make a great producing fly. Smallmouth and trout in particular. This fly works exceptionally well on early season smallmouth around here for us.
Although a bit generic, the one thing that Mike added that was genious…and makes the pattern….the red eyes. We have seen this in a few other flies but not many commercially available. The red eyes are what makes this pattern special and so productive. Certainly a modern take on a classic rabbit leech pattern.
