Lefty’s Shark and Cuda fly is one of our best selling, multi-use big game flies of all-time.
Many years ago, like in the mid-nineties, Lefty Kreh made his first appearance here at Mad River Outfitters and he told us about this fly. It has been a staple in the bins ever since. Lefty said this is the fly to have for sharks, but it also works on cuda as well as just about any predator species that you could chase. Good color schemes for both with some flash added.
Although both colors are great, the orange is a bit better option for shark and the chartreuse a bit better for chartreuse. Basically a big bucktail tied on a 3/0 capable hook and is sold here in the chartreuse/white color. This fly measures approximately 5 1/2″ in length.* We have also been using this one on the Peacock Bass trips and it has been killer!
