Twenty Incher- Bead Head

Description

The Twenty Incher is a big, meaty nymph that lives up to it’s name. It catches big fish! One of our favorites when the larger stuff is on the menu.

This fly features a faceted tungsten bead, peacock herl body ribbed with green wire, goose biot split tails, and partridge and spikey hare’s ear dubbing for the thorax. Pretty much covers the important ingredients of a good nymph right there. It’s super heavy and gets down quick. Make sure to use a stout tippet, not only to cast it, but to hold up with the brutes that will eat it.

We fish this fly alot during the colder months and do very well, on larger fish. It works just about anytime though. We will often fish it tandem with a smaller fly or soft hackle behind it as well. Truly one of our favorite nymphs for big fish. Right up there with the Cranefly larva.
